NOTESYNC keeps DIRNOTES and WINDNOTE comment files in agreement. It's
useful if you need to access your directory file comments from MS-DOS as well as from Windows, and want the comments to stay current in both lists.
WINDNOTE uses a different file format than does DIRNOTES: it lets you comment sub-directories as well as files, and its files use less disk space.
Although WINDNOTE can import the comments from a DIRNOTES file, it cannot
export its own comments into a DIRNOTES file.
If only one of the lists (DIRN-xxxx.DAT or WINDNOTE.DAT) is found in a directory, NOTESYNC will create the other one from it. If both exist, NOTESYNC will update both of them by adding missing entries and comments from one list to the other.
Syntax: NOTESYNC [drive:\path] [/S] [/?]
NOTESYNC can synchronize the DIRNOTES and WINDNOTE files in a single
directory or in all of the directories of a disk. If you just type "NOTESYNC" and press ENTER, it only updates the lists in the current directory. If neither exists, it does not create anything.
If you give the name of a drive and/or directory, it updates the lists in
in that directory.
If you use the "/S" switch, NOTESYNC updates the lists in every
sub-directory (and the root) of the current or specified drive.
If you forget how to use NOTESYNC, type a question mark or a /? after its
name for a summary of these instructions.
NOTESYNC only processes the current directory
NOTESYNC C: /S processes all directories on drive C:
